Configuring CueLine® EDPop up the menu by pressing the Spacebar, Enter/Return or Esc/Escape key, or double click the Right Mouse Button. Then click on Preferences from the menu. In the Client Server and Multiple Users versions the Preferences window is password protected. The default password is CueLine ED. Passwords are case and space character sensitive. Once in the Preferences tabbed dialog window the Advanced tab has a Change Password button to set the password for your installation. The Preferences dialog window has five tabs. The tabs are organized to allow you to:
Click OK on any of the tab pages when you are finished configuring CueLine® ED. Starting with a Common ConfigurationThe Quick tab is the default tab. On this tab we provide some common configurations. We suggest you click on each option to see configuration possibilities. Then go back to the option that most closely fits your needs and proceed on to the other tab pages to fine tune your configuration. Adjusting How Your Text is DisplayedThe Text tab configures how text is displayed on your screen. On this page you can set the number of lines that display, the spacing between lines, the text font color, the text box color, etc. Play with these preferences and observe how they affect the display of text. Configuring Your Background and Cue BarsThe Background tab configures the program background color, cue bar color, cue bar width, and which cue bars are displayed. Changing the Font Used in Most Buttons and ControlsThe Controls tab configures the font used to display most of the buttons and pop up windows, i.e. controls, of the program. Click on the button that describes the current font used for controls and select the new font you want to use for controls. Advanced ItemsThe Advanced tab allows you to read user preferences from a file, write user preferences to a file, or send user preferences to a printer. If you have a student with a Single User version on a laptop you could write that student's configuration to a USB thumb drive from the school's Multiple Users version, then read those preferences into the laptop's Single User version. If a USB thumb drive is not available you could print off the preferences then enter them by hand on the laptop using the paper copy as a guide. The two versions that support multiple users also allow you to change the password protecting the Preferences window. You can also set the number of months of inactivity before automatically deleting a user. By default this is set to 6 months. To immediately remove a user from the list of users simply log on as that user, go to this Advanced Preferences tab, and click on the Delete User button. On Windows, all versions that install to your computer's hard drive can be uninstalled from the Advanced tab.
